Native Workflows, No Zapier: This Week’s HighLevel Highlights

September 25, 20254 min read

If you’ve been hoping for a simpler way to connect your CRM to ClickUp, Airtable, Notion, and Google Contacts—this week’s updates are going to feel like a breath of fresh air.

HighLevel just added a round of native workflow triggers and actions, meaning you can now automate your stack without relying on Zapier or custom APIs. Plus, we get a bonus update in the Page Builder with a new QR code element.

This one’s short but powerful—and gives a clear signal of where HighLevel is headed. Let’s get into it.

Built-In ClickUp Integration

HighLevel workflow builder interface showing a list of available ClickUp actions after searching for "ClickUp." Visible actions include: Create New Document, Create New Document Page, Edit Document Page, Archive Task, Add Comment to Task, Find Task By ID, Find Documents, Find Custom Fields, Create List, Find Tasks, Create Space, and Create Folder. All are marked as “Beta” and display a premium crown icon.

What Changed:

HighLevel now supports real-time workflow triggers and actions for ClickUp, giving you instant automation around tasks, comments, time entries, and more.

Why It Matters for LOs:

Many mortgage teams use ClickUp for loan pipeline tasks, processor checklists, and referral follow-ups. Now, instead of waiting for Zapier delays—or managing complex integrations—you can connect it all natively:

  • Trigger automations from new or updated tasks

  • Track time entries or comments and push them into your CRM

  • Keep everything in sync without extra tools or fees

Tip:

Use ClickUp comments as a trigger to notify LOs when key actions (like “Docs Uploaded” or “Needs Follow-Up”) happen in real time.

Airtable Triggers (Polled Every 5 Minutes)

HighLevel workflow action panel with Airtable actions listed: Create Record, Update Record, Delete Record, and Find Record—all marked as Beta and Premium.

What Changed:

Airtable integration now supports workflow triggers when a new record is created or updated. These run on a 5-minute polling interval.

Why It Matters for LOs:

If you manage pre-qual info, lead spreadsheets, or custom trackers in Airtable, you can now tie those directly into HighLevel:

  • Send follow-up texts when a new lead is added

  • Alert team members when a deal status changes

  • Sync fields without manual data entry

Tip:

Use this for passive systems—like automated reminders based on spreadsheet changes—where instant response isn't critical.

Google Contacts Integration (Action Only)

HighLevel screen for the "Create Contact" action in Google Contacts. Shows fields for Name Prefix, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Name Suffix, and Company. Premium action warning is shown at the top.

What Changed:

A new action lets you create a contact inside Google Contacts whenever a new contact hits a workflow.

Why It Matters for LOs:

If your team uses Google Workspace, this lets you sync your HighLevel leads with shared company address books. That means:

  • LO assistants can see lead details from mobile

  • Contacts are auto-logged in Gmail

  • You avoid tool switching

Tip:

Use conditional logic to only push high-intent or pre-approved leads into Google Contacts.

Notion Automation (Triggers + Actions)

HighLevel interface showing the "Create Page" action for Notion. Input fields include Parent Page ID, Title, Content, Icon, and Cover. A banner at the top indicates this is a premium action.

What Changed:

HighLevel now supports both triggers and actions for Notion—including finding and editing pages or database items.

Why It Matters for LOs:

This is especially helpful for mortgage pros using Notion to manage SOPs, content calendars, or even client folders. Now you can:

  • Trigger reminders based on new Notion updates

  • Automatically update a client dashboard

  • Sync loan stage progress to project templates

Tip:

Pair this with ClickUp actions to link internal project tools across teams.

QR Code Element in the Page Builder

What Changed:

You can now add QR codes directly into landing pages inside the Page Builder—no plugins or image uploads required.

Why It Matters for LOs:

While it may sound redundant at first, this feature opens doors for webinars, presentations, and screen-shared sessions where you want someone to scan a code without leaving the page.

  • Let users scan to join a webinar list

  • Share links during events or trainings

  • Provide downloads or contact cards on-screen

Tip:

Use this on landing pages designed for projection or event display—not everyday web traffic.

Why These Updates Matter for Mortgage Pros

These native integrations show that HighLevel is putting serious energy into streamlining your tech stack. By removing the need for Zapier or external APIs, they’re making it faster and more reliable to automate what you already do—especially if your team uses tools like ClickUp, Airtable, or Notion to manage leads, content, or operations.

For mortgage pros, this means:

  • No more broken zaps or random delays

  • Fewer tools to maintain or troubleshoot

  • Centralized workflows inside your CRM

And let’s be honest—any week that lets you cut out a third-party subscription and clean up your processes? That’s a win.
